South Africa

This October, my family and I had the good fortune to be able to visit South Africa.    We spend about 2 weeks in various parts of the country from Johannesburg, south to Creighton, east  to St. Lucia and Hluhluwe Nature Preserve, the finally north to Kruger National Park for the last 5 days.

We saw hundreds of bird species as well as dozens of animals, most of which were completely new to us.      There were so many interesting, new, unusual animals, that I found it hard to narrow it down for the website.        I created 2 galleries – one for birds and one for animals – to let those “non-bird” friends of mine go through the photos a little faster.   But, I promise that there are some STRANGE looking birds that are worth seeing!

Grand Tetons National Park, Wyoming

This June was my Dad’s 75th Birthday.   As a treat, I was  able to spend a long weekend with my Mom and Dad visiting Grand Tetons National Park in Wyoming.   The views of the Grand Tetons from the Signal Mountain Lodge and the dam are some of the most amazing I have ever seen.   If you ever have a chance to visit this part of the country, I highly recommend it.   “Wow” just doesn’t do it justice.
