One of the busiest times of the year for Rocky Mountain National Park is during the elk rut, usually from mid-September to mid-October.  You can hear elk bugling all over the town of Estes Park at this time of year.   We enjoyed a short weekend trip during Elk Fest.

At the base of the Serra dos Orgaos mountains, we spent several days at an ecological reserve in Guapiassu (REGUA – Reserva Ecologica de Guapiassu) before moving on to the Serra Dos Tucanos Lodge.   The last few days were spent in Argentina at Iguazu Falls.   In 2011, Iguazu Falls was listed as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and has the second greatest annual waterflow of any falls in the world.
